Hunter Trial Championships
A Hunter Trial is a competition to test the ability of the horse and rider to negotiate a course of typical natural fences at a fair hunting pace. Riders compete in pairs or teams of three and there are various levels of competition to suit all ages and levels of ability.
The Hunter Trial Championships will take place on the 24th September(TBC) at Moorefield Kennels, New Ross Co. Wexford(TBC).
There are Under 12, Junior, Novice Intermediate and Senior Categories. Individual, Pairs and Trebles(senior only) classes available. Competitors must be able to go around confidently at local hunter trails on a novice or open track and must be seen by the DC competing. These hunter trails will run in the spring(March/April) and Autumn(September) and dates and locations will be posted on the website when they come up. The tetrathalon and eventing championships occur before the Hunter Trail Championships so there should be plenty of competitions to gain experience.
We do not normally put teams together but will help members who are finding it difficult to team up with a partner.
